 Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has made history on streaming giant Spotify by becoming the first African female artist to reach 5 million followers.

The ‘Rush’ singer recently surpassed this milestone, setting a new record for African female artists on the platform.

Despite this achievement, she remains behind Tems in terms of total streams among African female artists on Spotify. Ayra Starr has accumulated 2.7 billion streams across all her credits, while Tems leads with 3.8 billion streams.

Ayra Starr’s most streamed track on Spotify is “Santa,” with over 707 million streams. Her most streamed lead single on the platform is “Rush,” which has surpassed 474 million streams.
