I almost quit music after rupturing ovarian cyst while performing – Miley Cyrus

 American singer Miley Cyrus has opened up about a harrowing onstage incident that nearly led her to step away from music.

The Angels Like You singer revealed that she suffered a ruptured ovarian cyst during her New Year’s Eve performance in 2023.

In a heartfelt conversation with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the 32-year-old shared that the experience left her considering quitting music altogether. However, she was encouraged to keep going by Canadian film producer Lorne Michaels.

“He told me, ‘You get six months. Everyone gets six months to feel sorry for themselves, and then it’s time to rebuild,’” Cyrus recounted.

She continued, “He said, ‘You wouldn’t believe how many artists have sat in this chair and told me they were done with music. Everyone goes through these kinds of traumatic moments.’
