 Popular Nigerian musician Peter Okoye has responded to the confusion surrounding the arrest of a man with the same name in Ghana.

A video circulating on social media shows Ghanaian police apprehending a suspect named Peter Okoye, a 31-year-old accused of fraud and kidnapping. The clip sparked confusion among some online users who mistakenly believed the arrested individual was the singer.

To address the misunderstanding, Peter Okoye shared the viral video on his X (formerly Twitter) account, calling for clarity.

In a lighthearted tone, he wrote in pidgin: “Abeg make una dey specificaly dey specify which ‘PETER OKOYE’. I no be thief,” urging authorities to clearly distinguish between him and the suspect.
