It was an unforgettable night of pure excitement in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, as top Nigerian music stars — including Davido, Timaya, KCEE, and legendary highlife artist Bright Chimezie — delivered powerhouse performances that sent fans into a frenzy.
The concert, which took place Friday night at the Umuahia Township Stadium, was organized by Abia-born entrepreneur Lucky Igbokwe to celebrate the official launch of his newly established radio stations, Don 103.7 FM and Ikoro 93.3 FM.
Thousands of enthusiastic fans packed the stadium, turning the city into a pulsating center of music and celebration. Among the night’s many highlights, Davido and Bright Chimezie stood out as fan favorites, igniting wild cheers and non-stop dancing with their dynamic performances.
The energy in the stadium soared as Davido hit the stage, met with thunderous applause and chants from the crowd. His rendition of the hit song “With You” drew massive sing-alongs and roaring approval.
Shortly after, Bright Chimezie took center stage and reignited the crowd’s excitement with a lively performance of his iconic track “Because of English.” His infectious energy had fans dancing with abandon and showering him with praise.
The chemistry between Davido and Chimezie didn’t go unnoticed. Having been spotted together recently in Lagos, fans were ecstatic to see them share a stage in Umuahia. Calls for a collaboration between the Afrobeats star and the highlife legend echoed through the stadium. Many affectionately referred to Davido as “our in-law,” referencing his marriage to Chioma, who hails from the Igbo ethnic group.
